Join the Kids' Summer Reading Club (SRC) at the Port Moody Public Library! This free, fun program keeps your kids reading all summer long. By participating in the Kids' SRC, your readers will be able to discover new books, get awesome reading recommendations, participate in fantastic programs, and earn a medal in an exciting ceremony!
This year's theme is "Colour Your Summer".
You can pick up an SRC package from the Library’s Information Desk starting on June 1, 2025. The package will have everything that you will need for the SRC including the reading record, weekly stickers, and a bookmark.
Stop by the Library's Information Desk to pick up your SRC package. The package will have everything you need for the club: a reading record, weekly stickers, and a bookmark. You do not need to come to the Library every week for your stickers – they are included in your package.
Read for 15 minutes and colour in a square on the ladder for each day of reading completed. Once you have read for seven days, you can add that week’s sticker to the reading record.
Kids can read independently or have someone read to them. Readers can choose what they want to read – graphic novels, non-fiction, audiobooks, ebooks, picture books or chapter books. Everything counts!
Readers of all ages can participate in free programs all summer long! We will have fantastic family fun in the Library including a Reading Campout, scavenger hunts, crafting programs, and more. A full listing of our programming can be found on our online calendar or in our July/August program guide.
Readers are eligible for their Reading Club medal when they have completed 49 days of reading. They can receive their medal at a fancy SRC Medal Ceremony in the Inlet Theatre on Saturday, August 23 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. We will have activities, a scavenger hunt, and photobooths set up in the Galleria for readers to enjoy before and after the ceremony.
Please note: You do not need to register or receive a ticket for the ceremony.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, medals will be available at the Library’s Information Desk starting August 24.
