Important update to our eCard service

All eCards will expire August 1, 2022. If you currently have an eCard, you can come to the Port Moody Public Library to upgrade to a full Library membership. Please bring proof of residency.
Upgrading your eCard will ensure that you continue to have access to all of our online resources, including any eBook and downloadable audiobook holds and loans. It will also give you access to the Library's physical collection.

Visit in person to apply for a Port Moody Public Library card. Library cards are available to all ages (even babies!).

Get a library card

I live in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, or on the Sunshine Coast.

You can get a free library card if you live in one of the following member cities of InterLINK:

  • Bowen Island
  • Burnaby
  • Coquitlam
  • Fraser Valley
  • Gibsons and District
  • Lillooet Area
  • New Westminster
  • North Vancouver City
  • North Vancouver District
  • Pemberton and District
  • Port Moody
  • Richmond
  • Sechelt
  • Squamish
  • Surrey
  • Vancouver
  • West Vancouver
  • Whistler

Identification required to apply for a card

Bring the following documents to the Library:

  • One piece of government-issued ID with your current address, such as a driver's licence, or
  • One piece of government-issued ID and one document with your current address, such as a utility bill, a bank statement, a rental agreement, car insurance papers, or a piece of mail with your name on it.
    We also accept address information from an online account, or a clear photo or scan of a document showing your address.

To apply for a library card for your child under the age of 13, bring one piece of government-issued ID for the child (e.g. birth certificate), in addition to the documents listed above.

I live in Anmore, Belcarra, Lions Bay, or UBC Endowment Lands.

You can get an annual paid membership.

You may qualify for a free library card if you own property or business in the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley, or if you have already paid for a membership at another library. Contact the Accounts Desk at 604-469-4575 for more information.

I live in British Columbia outside of the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, or on the Sunshine Coast.

You can get a free BC OneCard.

Identification required to apply for a card

Bring the following documents to the Library:

  • One piece of government-issued ID with your current address, such as a driver's licence, and
  • A valid library card from your home library.

I am visiting for less than six months.

You can get a temporary paid three-month membership for $40.00 (50% refundable).

Identification required to apply for a card

Bring the following documents to the Library:

  • One piece of government issued ID with your home address, and
  • One document with the address where you are staying locally, such as a homestay agreement, hotel receipt, or personal mail.

Lost cards

Call the Accounts Desk at 604-469-4575 to report a lost card immediately.

To get a replacement card for $2.00, please bring a piece of ID and visit the Library in person.

What's my PIN?

Your default PIN (Personal Identification Number) is the last four digits of the phone number you provided when you got your library card. You will need to use your PIN to access your account online.
