The Port Moody Public Library has different kinds of study and work spaces for individuals and groups.
Silent spaces
Silent study rooms and carrels
Two silent study rooms
- First come, first serve.
- For individuals, not groups.
- Talking not allowed. These two rooms offer the quietest spaces in the Library.
Study carrels
- First come, first serve.
- For individuals, not groups.
- Located towards the back of the Library, the study carrels offer a quiet working area.
- However, these study carrels are located in an open area, and you may hear other people using the Library or noise from Library programs.
Talking spaces

Group study and work tables
- First come, first serve.
- Talking allowed. For individuals and groups to work together.
- Located in the open area around the Library.
One talking room
- You must book the room before using it.
- Talking allowed. For individuals and groups of up to four people.
- Ideal for doing a Zoom call, working on a group project, or having a small meeting.
- Ask at the Information Desk to borrow a whiteboard or laptop during your booking.
- Please note: The Talking Room is not a space to host events or programs.
Guidelines
- A person or group may book up to two sessions per week.
- A person or group may not book for more than two hours on a given day.
- Bookings exceeding the daily or weekly maximum will be cancelled by staff.
- Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance.
- Your booking will be cancelled if you are not present 15 minutes after the start time. The room will be made available to others to use.

After School Peak Hours
Please note that during the school year, the Talking Room will be first come first served from 4pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday. It is not bookable during this time period.
