How to access

Create a Comics Plus account

Click on the link above of the collection you would like to access. Learn more about the age categories in Comics Plus.

Enter your Port Moody Public Library card barcode and PIN (last four digits of your phone number).

Create a free Comics Plus account. Enter your email address, create a password, and click Sign Up.
Note: You have to create a separate account for each collection (children's, teen, or full) you want to access. 

Read comics on your computer or laptop:

After you have created a Comics Plus account, visit the website of your chosen collection using the links below. 
Note: Do not use the links in the "Create a Comics Plus" account section.

Log in to your Comics Plus account.

How to access

Instructions for a Computer or Laptop: 

1. Click here to access Kanopy
2. Click Get Started
3. Click Find Your Library
4. Search for and select Port Moody Public Library
5. Enter your library card number and PIN
6. Create a Kanopy account using your name, email address, and a new password.

Instructions for a Phone or Tablet:

1. Download the Kanopy app from the Google Play Store (Android devices) or Apple Store (iPhone, iPad etc.)
2. Open the app and select Get Started
3. Tap Find a Public Library, and type in Port Moody Public Library.
4. Enter your library card number and PIN. 

Instructions for a Smart TV:

1. Open the app store on the TV (Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Other Smart TVs)
2. Search for Kanopy
3. Select Kanopy 
4. Choose install 
5. Open Kanopy
6. Select Get Started
7. Go to the Kanopy TV Signup page on a computer or mobile device 
8. Enter the code on the TV
9. Proceed with Account Setup 

How to access

1. Download the Libby app on your Apple, Android, Amazon, or Kindle devices.
2. Open the Libby app.
3. Tap "Yes, I have a Library Card.
4. Tap "Search For A Library".
5. Search for "Port Moody Public Library".
6. Select "British Columbia Libraries".
7. Tap "Sign In With My Card".
8. Select "Port Moody Public Library".
9. Enter your library card number and PIN.
10. Start borrowing eBooks, audiobooks, and more!

Instructions for phone or tablet:

To read online newspapers and magazines from the Port Moody Public Library on your phone or tablet, follow these steps:

Set up and create a Press Reader account:

1. Download and install the PressReader app on your phone or tablet.
2. Open the app. On the bottom or side navigation, tap on the Accounts icon. The icon may be hidden in the More Options menu.
3. Tap sign in, choose the method you'd like, and create an account.

To connect and gain free access:

Note: PressReader requires you to renew your connection using your library card every three days. 

1. Make sure your app is already signed in to your Press Reader account.
2. On your phone or tablet, open the internet browser.
3. Go to the Library website, tap the menu in the top right corner. Tap "Borrow", then "Magazines and Newspapers". Tap to go to PressReader.
4. Enter your Port Moody library card number and PIN.
5. Usually the PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

6. You will be taken to the PressReader website. You will see a screen saying that you now have access from the Port Moody Public Library.

   Tip: To check if you are currently connected to the Library to get free access, look for the green coffee cup icon at the top.If you are not signed in already, tap “Sign in” button on the top. Sign in with the same account as the one you used for your PressReader app to sign in.

7. Open the PressReader app. You should see the same message box telling you you now have access from the Port Moody Public Library.
   You will see the green coffee cup in the bottom right corner of your app.
8. If you tap on a newspaper or a magazine to open it, you should see the option to “Read”, rather than the price for purchase.

Contact the Library if you have any issues connecting to PressReader. Staff can also help you if you would like to bring your phone or tablet to the Library.
