LinkedIn Learning (formerly known as Lynda.com) is an online learning platform available for free through the Port Moody Public Library. With LinkedIn Learning, you have access to over 16,000 online video online video courses, including courses in other languages (English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, and Portuguese).
How to use LinkedIn Learning on your computer
Log in with your Port Moody Public Library card number and PIN (last four digits of your phone number). To ensure that you are getting free access to this resource, use this link so LinkedIn Learning knows that you are a Library member. Fill out the form to give consent to use LinkedIn Learning.
How to use LinkedIn Learning on your phone or tablet
Download the LinkedIn Learning app for Android or Apple. Open the app, tap "sign in", then select "Sign in with your library card". The library ID is portmoodylibrary.
Press "continue" and you will be asked to enter your library card number and PIN (last four digits of your phone number).
Note: You do not have to have a LinkedIn account to use this resource. Furthermore, LinkedIn Learning is not tied to your LinkedIn profile. Nothing you do on LinkedIn Learning will appear on your profile.

Comics Plus
Read comics online with Comics Plus from the Port Moody Public Library. Comics Plus provides unlimited, simultaneous access, which means you can read any title right away with no wait! You can read directly in the app/browser, or download them ahead of time. Choose from comics, graphic novels, manga, and picture books for all ages.
How to access
Create a Comics Plus account
Click on the link above of the collection you would like to access. Learn more about the age categories in Comics Plus.
Enter your Port Moody Public Library card barcode and PIN (last four digits of your phone number).
Create a free Comics Plus account. Enter your email address, create a password, and click Sign Up.
Note: You have to create a separate account for each collection (children's, teen, or full) you want to access.

Kanopy
Watch films, TV shows, educational videos and documentaries from the Port Moody Public Library with Kanopy. Kanopy provides users with monthly credits they can use to stream titles with no advertisements or wait times. For kids content, users have ad-free unlimited access! Kanopy can be accessed on a computer or laptop, phone or tablet, or a smart TV.
Please note: Kanopy is available to Port Moody residents only.
How to access
Instructions for a Computer or Laptop:
- Click here to access Kanopy
- Click Get Started
- Click Find Your Library
- Search for and select Port Moody Public Library
- Enter your library card number and PIN
- Create a Kanopy account using your name, email address, and a new password.
Instructions for a Phone or Tablet:
- Download the Kanopy app from the Google Play Store (Android devices) or Apple Store (iPhone, iPad etc.)
- Open the app and select Get Started
- Tap Find a Public Library, and type in Port Moody Public Library.
- Enter your library card number and PIN.

To read online newspapers and magazines from the Port Moody Public Library on your phone or tablet, follow these steps:
Set up and create a Press Reader account:
- Download and install the PressReader app on your phone or tablet.
- Open the app. On the bottom or side navigation, tap on the Accounts icon. The icon may be hidden in the More Options menu.
- Tap sign in, choose the method you'd like, and create an account.
To connect and gain free access:
Note: PressReader requires you to renew your connection using your library card every three days.
- Make sure your app is already signed in to your Press Reader account.
- On your phone or tablet, open the internet browser.
- Go to the Library website, tap the menu in the top right corner. Tap "Borrow", then "Magazines and Newspapers". Tap to go to PressReader.
- Enter your Port Moody library card number and PIN.
- Usually the PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
You will be taken to the PressReader website. You will see a screen saying that you now have access from the Port Moody Public Library.
Tip: To check if you are currently connected to the Library to get free access, look for the green coffee cup icon at the top.If you are not signed in already, tap “Sign in” button on the top. Sign in with the same account as the one you used for your PressReader app to sign in.
- Open the PressReader app. You should see the same message box telling you you now have access from the Port Moody Public Library.
You will see the green coffee cup in the bottom right corner of your app. - If you tap on a newspaper or a magazine to open it, you should see the option to “Read”, rather than the price for purchase.
Contact the Library if you have any issues connecting to PressReader. Staff can also help you if you would like to bring your phone or tablet to the Library.
