How to join the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Club

  • Stop by the Library during opening hours to get your game board.
  • Print your own Game board [PDF].
  • Play on screen using the PDF as your game board.

How to play

  • Roll a die to move across the board. 
  • When you land on a square, read a book from the corresponding category. 
  • Climb up if you land on a square with a fish ladder.
  • Swim back down if you land on a square with a salmon.

How to enter the Summer Reading Club prize draw

  • Play the Salmons and Fish Ladders game all summer long. No minimum or maximum number of completed books required.
  • Return your prize draw ballot to the Library between August 19 - September 5 to enter our grand prize draw. You can drop the ballot off at the Information Desk or email a photo to askthelibrary@portmoody.ca.

  2. A novel in translation
  3. A book by a Canadian author
  4. A book with a detective or private investigator
  5. A book more than 300 pages long
  6. A re-telling of a myth, fable, or fairy tale
  7. A book with a one-word title
  8. A book of short stories
  9. A book involving travel
  10. A book with an animal on the cover
  11. A banned or challenged book
  12. A Library Staff pick
  13. A book with an older adult as a main character
  14. An ocean-themed book
  15. A book by an Indigenous author
  16. An award winner
  17. A book about food or with food on the cover
  18. A genre novel by an author of colour
  19. A book discussed on the Library’s Keep It Fictional podcast
  20. A book you never got around to reading
  21. A book with no more than 200 pages
