What to Expect When You’re Expecting (a Manuscript Edit) |
7:00pm–8:30pm • Coquitlam Public Library (City Centre branch) • Registration required • Teens & adults In this seminar, we will discuss the different types of editors, the layers of editing, what you can expect from an editor, the pros and cons of programs like Grammarly and ProWriting Aid (and even the dreaded AI editor!), deciding whether you really need an editor if you’re querying agents, as well as some great self-editing tips and techniques you can take on yourself to knock your manuscript into tip-top shape before you send it off to that agent or editor. 5:00pm–8:30pm • Evergreen Cultural Centre • Registration required • Ages 16+ The Tri-Cities Writers Festival presents a cocktail reception and panel discussion at the Evergreen Cultural Centre. Registration required. For ages 16+. Cocktail Reception: 5:00pm –7:00pm To purchase alcoholic drinks, you must be 19+ and present valid government issued photo ID. Tickets are $20.00 and include access to the reception, food, one drink of your choice, and the panel discussion. Further drinks will be available for purchase at the event. Proceeds will go toward Coquitlam Public Library's programs and services. If you are only interested in attending the panel discussion, registration is free but still required. Doors open at 6:45. |
