Girl Meets Duke series by Tessa Dare

Historical romance is my escape and Tessa Dare is one of my favourite writers. I have recently enjoyed her latest series: Girl Meets Duke. The opening scenes for each story are hilarious and the female lead characters are witty, strong, and not about to be overwhelmed by wealthy and titled men. These are Regency romances at their finest. Start with The Duchess Deal. Impoverished seamstress Emma shows up on the Duke of Ashbury’s doorstep demanding payment for the wedding dress she spent months working on for the duke’s intended. When the wedding is called off last minute, the duke is left without a bride and Emma is left with a dress no one else wants. Shenanigans ensue and love soon follows. The other two books (so far) in the series The Governess Game and The Wallflower Wager are equally delightful.
