About the Book

Book cove of Tatouine

Tatouine by Quebec native Jean-Christophe Réhel, is expected to resonate with readers recovering from social isolation. The novel’s protagonist feels disconnected from people and the world around him. The reader is brought along as he recounts his experience living with a genetic disease, his financial hardships as he cycles through a series of unfulfilling jobs, and the highs and lows of family and romantic relationships. In response, he turns to Star Wars and other pop culture diversions to relate to and to escape from his surroundings. Tatouine is relatable and imaginative, capturing the struggles and small triumphs of the daily grind and modern existence with humour and a poetic rhythm.

About One eRead Canada

One eRead Canada is organized by the Canadian Urban Libraries Council/Conseil des Bibliothèques Urbaines du Canada (CULC/CBUC) - the people behind the eContent for Libraries campaign. Libraries are facing very high costs for ebooks and eaudiobooks - and some titles aren't available to libraries at all. With this campaign, CULC wants to show that libraries introduce readers to new books, which actually helps to drive sales to publishers.

Follow along on social media: Join the Facebook group and the follow One eRead Canada on Twitter @1eRead_unLivrel to chat about the book with other people across Canada who are also reading Tatouine.
